Yesterday morning
Marlys and I finally spooked a bear while walking. I am not sure who was more surprised, but the sable colored adult sure took of once it saw us. We were so surprised we didn't even stop talking or walking toward it.
The bears are out and about as they are fattening up for winter, as evidenced by the broken pickets on the communities garbage enclosure.
